My name is David Barrett. This page only exists because I can’t figure out how to convince my theme to not link to it. I guess that says something about me.
I guess since we’re here, I’ll explain the purpose of this blog. I’m a programmer trying to evaluate ActionScript/Flash/Flex/etc from the same perspective as C, C++, D, etc. Indeed, did you know you can create SWF files using nothing more than a text editor and command-line compiler? Well, now you do. Unfortunately, anything more advanced than that gets a bit tricky. So as I encounter and overcome obstacles along this path, I figure I’ll post the results here so all can learn from my follies.
